The water balance including the surface and subsurface components is one of the elements required to develop plans of the multipurpose utilization of the basin water resources. In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented the results of calculations of the subsurface runoff layer and of a coefficient of the river alimentation by groundwater (Ku) based on the subdivision of the water discharge hydro-graph using the graphical method. The runout layer varies within the basin from 127 mm in the south (Grivda river, Ivatsevichy settlement) to 238 mm (Neman river, Yershi village). The subsurface runoff layer changes between sites from 63 mm (Grivda river, Ivatsevichy settlement) to 115 mm (Berezina river, Nerovy village). A coefficient Ku of the river alimentation by groundwater is an important indicator of the gross moistening transformation into the subsurface runoff. Within the Neman catchment area the coefficient Ku varies between 0.11 and 0.21.
