Ecological plasticity and stability of potato varieties in nutrients accumulation | Экологическая пластичность и стабильность сортов картофеля по накоплению питательно-ценных веществ

In the central part of the Republic of Belarus in 2005-2007 there was realized an assessment of potato (Solanum tuberosum) varieties by their nutritive value, as well as by the ability of the varieties to display it depending on growing conditions. The following varieties were studied in course of the study: early ripening ones - Aksamit, Delfin, Kapriz, Lazurit and Lileya; middle-early ones - Briz, Dina, Neptun, Odissej, Yavar; mid-ripening ones - Altair, Dubrava, Kolorit, Krinitsa, Rosinka, Skarb and Talisman; middle-late ones - Blakit, Veras, Vetraz, Lasunok and Loshitskij; late ripening ones - Belorusskij 3, Vesnyanka, Vytok, Zarnitsa, Zdabytak, Orbita, Sintez, Suzor'e and Temp. Potato tubers were cultivated on sod-podzolic sandy loam, sod-podzolic light loamy and peat-bog soils. Research results of ecological plasticity and stability of potato varieties showed that the most optimal conditions for growing tubers with high nutritive value were marked in case of potato growing on sod-podzolic sandy loam soil. In the conditions of potato cultivation on peat-bog soil there was marked small amount of starch, total protein and vitamin C. In accordance with their nutritive value there were selected the following potato varieties: in conditions of cultivation on loamy soil – Krinitsa, Talisman, Lasunok, Loshitskij Belorusskij 3, Vytok, Zdabytak, Sintez; on sandy loam soil - Dubrava, Veras, Lasunok , Loshitskij Belorusskij 3, Vesnyanka, Vytok, Zdabytak, Sintez, Suzor'e, Temp; on peat-bog soil - Vytok, Zdabytak, Sintez. Potato varieties Dubrava, Talisman, Veras, Lasunok , Belorusskij 3, Vesnyanka, Sintez and Suzor'e were qualified as breeds with intensive accumulation of nutritive elements; Loshitskij, Zdabytak and Temp – as breeds with a plastic type of accumulation.
