Milk productivity is one of the most important characteristics of animal husbandry. Creation of new high-productive breeds of cattle appears the main direction of selection in the Republic of Belarus. Success of selective and genetic transformation of milk breeds of cattle is generally determined with effectiveness of utilization of Holstein breeds, popular all over the world and evaluated as world leader on productivity and milk yield level. Comparative estimation of productive qualities and reproductive capacity of cows, selected by different biotechnological methods is presented in the article. In the same conditions Holstein animals of import breeding (selected from heifers, delivered from Hungary and also selected by embryo transfer method, imported from Canada) have higher milk yield, milk fat production and rate of milk protein for three lactations. It is determined, that cross-bred and clean-bred Holstein cows of experimental groups have positive correlation between open-days and cow-productivity.
