In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was shown the species wealth of algae of fish ponds. It was determined, that species from geniuses Microcystis, Anabaena h Aphanizamenon could amount to great values of biomass in a short period of time. The necessity of more detailed study of species composition and taxonomic structure of phytoplankton of fish ponds and necessity of creation a unified electronic database was noted. The information about species composition of phytoplankton and presence of potentially dangerous toxic species could reduce their negative influence on aquaculture of the analysed species. There was presented a developed programme Algae Manager which was developed in the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The programme was developed for the storage of taxonomic, descriptive and visual information about microalgae.
