In course of the research there was studied the efficiency of selenium usage in a compound of a mix fodder KR-2 in rations of young growth of cattle at growing for meat. As a result of realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus research there was revealed a positive influence of various doses of selenium (0.1; 0.2; 0.3 mg on 1 kg of a ration dry matter) on forage feeding, digestibility and use of nutrients, biochemical blood structure, animal efficiency. The most effective was the norm of selenium of 0.2 mg on 1 kg of the ration dry matter. Use of optimum norm of selenium in feeding of young cattle promoted activization of microbiological processes in a hem that lead to decrease in quantity of ammonia on 11.8%, to increase in level of total nitrogen at 24%, increase of dry and organic substances digestibility, protein, fat and fibre on 5.5-7.5%, to improvement of nitrogen use on 3.3% from the accepted. Selenium inclusion in diets of bull-calves made positive impact on oxidation-reduction processes in their organism to what testifies morphological and biochemical blood structure. Increase of concentration of crude protein in blood serum on 7.8% and decrease in the content of urea on 12.5% (Р0.05) was thus observed. Feeding to young cattle of the mixed fodder enriched by selenit of sodium in quantity, providing 0.2 mg of selenium on 1 kg of the ration dry matter, promoted increase daily average gains of bull-calves on 10.9% (Р less than 0,01). Selenium application in a dose of 0.2 mg on 1 kg of the ration dry matter made it possible to lower the gain cost price on 11% and to receive additional profit on efficiency increase and decrease in the cost price of a gain at a rate of 133.4 thousand Belarusian rubles on 1 goal in a year (in the prices of 2010).
