Combining ability of male and female genotypes of pistacia atlantica trees in 9 different provenances.

In 2003, some pistacia atlantica trees from 9 different provenances including Ilam, Kerman, Kermanshah, Khaklun,Mamand,Prikdan,Shiraz, Sistan & Yazd were selected to obtain half sib seeds.At harvesting time, the seeds were collected and sown for seedling production in elborz station(Karadj). Seedlings were transfered to koshk natural area for site evaluation. Planted seedling was irrigated at first year. In 2007 percentage of stablished seadlings were recorded. Because of drought and dry occurrence, only 25% of tree seedlings remained. Yazd seedlings with 36.47% having maximum and Ilam with 18.6% had minimum adaptations. Plant height (the length of main stem) , collar diameter( diameter of main stem at collar) and branch number( the number of substem) were also been recorded. Duncan multiple range test showed that Shiraze , Yazd & Sistan,s seedlings had maximum plant height and Khalcon , Shiraz & Sistan had maximum in collar diameter and Kermanshah seedlings showed to have minimum in 2 named characteristics. Therefore Shiraz, Yazd & Sistans provenances are more adaptable than others in Kushk area.
