Qualitative and quantitative variation on Markhoz goat-semen in different ages and seasons

Main Markhoz-goat product is valuable fiber (Mohair) that use in local cloths. Due to reduction Markhoz-goat Population size, it is necessary to conservation this Iranian genetic resource. For this propose, semen cryopreservation is a carven strategy. Qualitative and quantitative variation of Markhoz-goat-Semen investigated on 24 boar-goat aged from 1 to 4 years old were randomly selected in research station on Markhoz-goat located in Sages. They were divided to 6 individuals separately into 4 groups' age in each including 1, 2, 3, 4 years old in 4 season groups. After veterinary inspection and consumption of a good diet, semen collecting were done using Electro-ejaculator, collected semen were incubated at 35ºC by water bath and following qualitative and quantitative characteristics including volume, color, concentration, motility, percent of alive-sperms and the effect of breeding and non-breeding season
