Study the effect of pix and plant density on earliness and yield of hybrid cottonsý.

A field experiment was carried out as split, split plot in form of CRB design with four replications and 12 treatments at agricultural and natural resources research center of Tehran province in Varamin during 2009 and 2010. In this study, cotton hybrid varieties of S5 and S8 were used as main plot, use and unuse of pix as sub-plot and three plant spacing ( 40, 60 and 80 cm) as sub-sub plot. Accourding to the results, the effects of tratments on yield and components were not significant on number of vegetative and reproductive branches, number of boll per plant, boll weight, plant height and earliness. Base on mean analysis all factors were in one group. The use of pix had no effect on yield and yield components. Plant spacing only effected the number of reproductive branch at 5% level and not on other factros which treatments of 40 and 80 cm plant spacing produced the most reproductive branches. Vareity S80 had more reproductive branches, number of boll per plant, boll weighet and plant height. The highest earliness and yield were belonged to 40 and 80 cm plant spacing, respectively. Cultivar S5 under 80 cm of plant spacing had produced the hihgest plant height, boll weight and number of boll per plant. Regarding to earliness all plant spacing were at the same level, but the earliness of 40 cm of plant spacing was more. The number of reproductive branches in 40 cm of plant spacing was more than 60 and 80 cm plant spacing. The interaction effect of vareity, pix and plant spacing were not significant.
