Study of efficacy of sticky traps with various colors on the attraction sugarbeet fleabeetles (chaetocnema spp.) and other pests of sugarbeet.

Fleabeetles of chaetocnema tibialis I11 and C. breviuscula Faldermann are important pests on sugarbeet in Iran.Some times their damage is so high, that some part of field should be Replanted.Since most of crop loss occurs from cotyledone stage until 4-leaf. Stage Monitoring the population of the pest could have an important role in decreasing damage of the pest. Sticky-colored traps are used for the pest population Monitoring . An experiment was conducted in a split plot design with 4 replication in Esfahan' during 2002-2003, Main plot was color in 7 levels (green' yellow' orange, red, blue, black and white) and subplot was height in 4 levels (0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1m) . trap surface coated with a thin layer of insect adhesive (Tangletrap) and replaced in weekly intervals. In the second year of experiment two types of yellow (lemon and Saturn) were evaluated. Results showed that higher individuals were significantly captured to Lemon yellow, and the height of 0.25 . Aphis fabae and Empoasca decipiens were significantly captured to lemon yellow and height of 0.25 and 0.5 meters respectively. Coccinella septempunctata , Chrysoperla carnea ,Aranea and syrphidae were attracted to lemon yellow' green' blue and lemon yellow and height of 1, 0.75, 0.5 and 0.75 meters respectively.
