Genetic Diversity of 'Sardary' wheat lines using microsatellite markers Abstract
2004
Mardi, Mohsen
In this investigation, genetic diversity of 35 'Sardary' wheat lines was studied using 60 microsatellite markers. The numbers of observed alleles in each locus were varied from 2 to 6. Polymorphic information content of loci was estimated from 0.11 to 0.83. Cluster analysis using molecular and morphological information separated the lines in to 7 and 4 groups respectively. The genetic differences were observed from 0.12 to 0.65. Because of high level of genetic diversity among 'Sardari' wheat lines, this cultivar could be used as genetic resource in breeding programs. The results of multiple regression analysis showed a significant correlation between number of spiklelets in spike and 4B chromosome, number of seeds in spike and 5B chromosome, weight of thousand seed and 3A, 5A and 6A chromosomes, height and 3B chromosome, yield and 6A, 3A and 3D chromosomes, percentage of the seeds protein and 4A, 5B, 3D and 1A chromosomes and root length and 1A and 2B chromosomes. Using of yield components informative markers may facilitate preliminary selection for productive lines.
