Study on advanced barley genotypes in regional yield trial in warm zone.

In order to obtain stable and high yielding lines and to investigate effects of Genotype×environment, 80 barley varieties and lines (including two checks: Nimroz /Sahra, EBYTW85-11) were evaluated using four separate experiments(A1, A2(1), A2(2) and A2(3)). Each experiment consists of 20 genotypes, during cropping season 2008-2009 .A2(1) experiment was planted in Ahwaz. A2(2) experiment was planted in Darab and Moghan stations and A2(3) experiment was planted in Zabol and Moghan. Experiments were conducted using Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. Combined analysis of variance showed significant difference among locations, and Genotype × Location interactions in A1. Mean comparisons of yield among genotypes using Duncan test were conducted in A1 experiment. In overall, based on mean of grain yield, stability parameters (Ø and SDR) the important traits such as early maturity, resistance to diseases, lodging, , The lines number 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 18 were selected from A1 experiment. In other experiments based on the mean of grain yield and important traits such as early maturity, resistance to diseases, lodging tolerance lines No. 2, 17 and 18 from A2(1), 4, 10, 16 and 19 from A2(2) and 8, 17 and 19 from A2(3) were selected to participate in next year elite barley lines yield trial of warm zone.
