Morphological, physical and chemical properties of prominent soil series were investigated in the west region of Kermanshah Province. Hasanabad, Soliemanabad and Dehkrosheh soil series were formed in semi humid climate. Analytical results showed that the amount of clay and lime content of these soils varied from 10% to 40% and 10% to 25%, respectivly. Morphological studies showed that lime concersion, clay films and slickensides presence were the dominant pedofeturs in the soil matrix of these soils. Gharahsani, Noshirvan, Torkvais and Jalalvand soil series were formed in semi-arid climate. The amount of clay and lime contents of these soils varied from 20 to 45%, 10% to 50%, respetivly. Lime concersions in different horizons were the only domminat pedofeturs that was observed in moderate amount. Alvand soil series were formed in arid climate. Presence of marle as paralithic layer in the depth of 30cm is the main phenomena in these soil series. The amount of clay and lime in different soil horizons of these soils varied 20% to 43% and 10% to 25%, respectivly. Gorsefid was another soil series that formed in arid climate, too. According to analytical results the amount of lime in these soil series was more than Alvand one and reached to nearly 45% and some more in a few soil horizons.
