Hubungan konsumsi energi dan protein dengan bobot metabolik dan pertumbuhan pada sapi perah.

A record of feeding trials in 160 dairy cattle (123 males, 37 females) was used to study correlation between energy (TDN) or crude protein (CP) intakes and metabolic weight (W to the power of .75) and weight gain (G). The animals had an average liveweight of 170 plus minus 82 kg and weight gain of .514 plus minus .314 kg/d. They consumed 3.335 plus minus 1.452 kg TDN and .625 plus minus .323 kg CP daily. The TDN or the CP intakes were closely correlated with the W to the power of .75 and the G (P < .01). The G however, was not independent from the W to the power of .75 (r = 0.306). Grouping the animals into 4 classes of liveweights reduced the dependency of the G on the W to the power of .75 so that they were essentially independent from each other. The TDN consumptions of the animal classes could be stated as in the following regression equations: 1) For 0-99 kg liveweight: TDN = .521 + .0245W to the power of .75 + 0,982G, 2) For 100-199 kg liveweight: TDN = -1.05 + .0833W to the power of .75 + 1.53G, 3) For + 200 kg liveweight: TDN = 2.39 + .0127W to the power of .75 + 2.36G. The equations for CP consumptions were: 1) For 0-99 kg liveweight : CP = - .476 + .0279W to the power of .75 + .377G, 2) For 100-199 kg liveweight : CP = .165 + .000388W to the power of .75 + .860G, 3) For 200-299 kg liveweight : CP = .115 + .00508W to the power of .75 + .668G, and 4) For = > 300 kg liveweight : CP = .428 + .00313W to the power of .75 + .375G. The use of the equations in estimating the TDN and CP requirements of growing dairy cattle were presented.
