Environmental hydrographical-hydrological characteristics general as to the Radoinja reservoir on the Uvas river (Serbia, Yugoslavia) are brought up in this paper. The paper is aimed at the hydrobiological results of the research taking place in the summer of 1993 and 1994 as regards the aforesaid ecosystem. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of phytoplankton community was made. The presence of 16 species from 4 phyla was detected. Bacillariophyta dominate in number (9), whereas Pyrrophyta dominate in individual number (52.48). Saprobic indices were calculated on the basis of phytoplankton community composition ranging from 1.32 to 1.50. Preliminary ichthyological investigations were conducted, too.
