In the present paper the production potential of two sets of pigs was compared in the Prestice Black-Pied and Improved Prestice Black-Pied breeds with the standard plane of nutrition consisting of an SVP mixture for pig progeny testing stations, with the content of 73.94 of total digestible nutrients (TDN) and with the improved plane of nutrition (SVP and special supplement) with the content of 74.64% TDN. Each group comprised 18 pairs (young boar + gilt). The test group of Pc pigs reached the average daily weight gain of 804.6 g, that means by 16.2 g more than did the control group. The proportion of valuable meat cuts was also higher - by 48.04% and the average backfat thickness was lower by 0.3 mm (26.0 mm). The test group of ZPc pigs reached the average daily weight gain of 818.2 g, at the same level as the control group. The consumption of TDN per 1 kg weight gain equalling 1.98 is significantly lower. In standard conditions of pig progeny tests when the SVP feed mixture was used, the ZPc pigs reached the average daily weight gain of 821.2 g, i. e. by 32.8 g more than in Pc pigs. The consumption of 2.00 TDN per 1 kg weight gain is lower by 0.04 TDN. The proportion of valuable meat cuts of 47.53% is by 0.29% higher and the average backfat thickness of 25.2 mm is lower by 1.1 mm. In the test groups with feed supplements the ZPc pigs reached the average daily weight gain of 818.1 g, i. e. by 13.6 g more than in the Pc pigs.
