Aflatoxin B1 contamination in corn grain was highest when harvesting was made during field maturity and lowest for delayed harvesting treatment. Right after harvest, there was no aflatoxin B1 contamination in corn grain and aflatoxin B1 contamination increased with increasing storage duration. Grain from delayed harvesting plot was low in moisture content and consequently resulted in a low aflatoxin B1 contamination even though the grain was stored for 8 weeks period. Stored corn grain as unshelled ear had lower aflatoxin B1 contamination than shelled grain. Factor affecting aflatoxin contamination the most was seed moisture content which consequently caused a failure of this study to detect an influence of planting date on aflatoxin contamination. Planting date, however, affected grain yield greatly with a higher grain yield for an early rainy season than late rainy season.
