Auswirkungen unterschiedlicher Unkrautbekaempfungsmassnahmen auf die Populationsdynamik der Getreideblattlaeuse und ihrer natuerlichen Feinde.

In 1987 and 1988 the influence of mechanical and chemical weed control in winter wheat on the population development of cereal aphids Rhopalosiphum padi (L.), Metopolophium dirhodum (Wlk.) and Macrosiphum avenae (F.) (Homoptera: Aphididae) was estimated by tiller samplings. The level of mummified aphids was simultaneously ascertained. Larvae and adults of aphidophagous predators (Chrysopidae, Coccinellidae, Syrphidae) were collected in sweep nets. In 1987 the infestation levels of aphids in the herbicide and mechanical control treatments were 3 aphids per tiller. In 1988 the number of aphids recorded in the herbicide treatment and in the mechanical weed control plots were 6.2 and 4.8, respectively. The average infestation on the ears in 1987 was 11 aphids in the plots treated with herbicides which was significantly higher than in those plots with mechanical weed control where only 4.1 aphids per ear were found. In 1988 in the plots with herbicides a significantly higher number of aphids per ear were detected when compared to mechanically weeded plots 7.1 vs. 5.0, respectively. In contrast, the rate of mummified aphids and the population density of aphidophagous predators was relatively low and did not show any significant difference in 1987 nor in 1988. Yield differences were not detected in either year.
