This study was carried out to develop suitable cultivation techniques for several fruit vegetables as cash crop by using pipe house covered with polyetylene (PE) film in order to reduce disease infections and insect injuries, and also to get high quality and yield during the rainy season in mountainous areas. The infection rate of blight (Phytophthora infestans) in tomato was 5 % in PE house as compared with 75 % under open-field condition, and the rate of fruit cracking was 10.3 % in PE house as compared with 35.5 % in the open-field. The percentage of virus infection in pimento peppers, Capsicum annuum, was reduced from 100 to 3 with PE house cultivation, and the rate of fruit rotting was significantly reduced from 12.2 to 3.2 %. The rate of malformed fruits in squash, cucurbita moshata was reduced from 13.8-7.2 % to 7.4-0.9 %. The suger content (Brix) of melons was increaced from 4.3 to 14.7 % and the average fruit weight was 1,500 to 1,750 grams, and the rate of marketable fruit was increased from 81.8 to 89.3 %.
