An experiment was conducted at the Narendrapur Farm soil under North Bengal Sugar Mills, Bangladesh during 1985-86 crop year to study the effect of selected secondary and trace elements, viz. sulphur, zinc, manganese, iron, Boron and Magnesium on the growth and recovery of sugarcane. Significant response of secondary and trace elements were observed on the number of tillers, millable cane, ton cane/ha and ton sugar/ha. Sulphur, zinc, manganese, iron and boron in combination with recommended doses of NPK produced 18.99%, 11.28%, 10.0%, 10.21% and 25.81% higher cane yield than NPK alone. Highest cane and sugar yield was obtained in the treatment where sulphur, zinc and manganese were added together with recommended NPK.
