Nagpala A.L. | Villanueva L.M.
Results of the study revealed that ASN-69.1, N503.31 and AGU 69.1 gave the highest number of infected plants, whereas Cruza 148, Greta and Conchita exhibited the least percentage infection and high percentage survival. The varieties/clones that gave the highest number of infected plants also gave the highest tuber infection. The highest total yields were obtained from Greta, followed by Cruza 148, Cosima and Conchita. Reaction of the different varieties to bacterial wilt showed that N503.31, AGU-69.1, I-1035, ASN-69.1, B71-240.2, CFE-69.1 and Rosita were moderately susceptible. Cosima was moderately resistant; Cruza 148, Greta and Conchita were resistant to the pathogen. Identification of the bacterial wilt pathogen under laboratory conditions showed that Biotype 3 which is equivalent to Race 1 is present in the locality.
