Thermal and oxygen conditions in lakes were analysed. Good oxygen conditions in an a-mesotrophic Lake Pluszne usually did not limit the fish distribution. In a eutrophic Lake Maroz, specific metalimnetic minimum of oxygen content at the begining of summer stagnation divided vandace stock into two layers.
