In laboratory tests, using growth of corn (IPB var 2) seedlings on rhizobacterium cell suspension (CRCS test) in petri plate as indicator, the isolates increased seedling weight by 1.0 to 43.3%; shoot weight increases range from 1-21%; shoot length, 1-56.7%; root weight, 1-472.5%; and root length, 1-123%. However, in tests where the rhizobacterium cultures were coated on the seeds of corn, rice, soybean, and cotton no significant differences in growth characteristics between the treated and non-treated seeds were observed. Several isolates in CRCS test also inhibited corn seedling growth. Total seedling weight loss in treatments with rhizobacteria ranged from 1-82.44% , shoot weight loss ranged 1.3-95.1%; shoot length, 3.2-25.7%; root weight, 1.4-47.0%; and root length, 7.3-73.4%. In greenhouse tests, using root dipping into and spraying of, rhizobacterium cultures on tomato (C-132 cv) and potato (I 1062) seedlings, the isolates increased tomato top weight by 1.5 to 31.3% in the spraying test. Top weight increases in root dipping tests, ranged from 2.6-27.2% on tomato and 2.9-29.4% on potato.
