This work reports the results obtained in the essay of the bare root technique of seedlings production, under field and greenhouse conditions, evaluating the effect of three population density levels and four chemical fertilizer dosages on growth, dry matter production and survival of P. pseudostrobus Lindl. seedlings, It was found that the levels of 289 and 196 seedlings per m*2 were superior in diameter and lenght of principal root, under field conditions, and 121 seedlings per m*2 in aerial dry matter, root dry matter, and total dry matter, under greenhouse conditions. With respect to fertilization, in field the treatment 210 kg of N per ha provoked in high seedlings mortality; in greenhouse 150 kg of P per ha favored the radical growth, as soon as too, aerial dry matter. To the compare bare root, in field and greenhouse, with container, it was observed that bare root in field was better in aerial dry matter, root dry matter and total dry matter, not so in survival where bare root in greenhouse and container were superior. In diameter, bare root, in field and greenhouse, were equal.
