Although soil material was very heterogeneous, it has a high carbonates content, as a common characteristic. Weather conditions are similar all over the zone, but soil age is different, because there is not a topographic uniformity in the area studied. For this reason, there are soils in constant rejuvenation by erosion processes, while another have been conserved on older surfaces. The joint action of forming factors has differentiated the following soil units: Lithosols, Vertisols, Fluvisols, Regosols, Luvisols and Cambisols.
