80 bacterial strains isolated from samples of raw milk were used for assessment of two numerical identification systems (TNW and IDENTI). Out of the total number of 80 isolated gramnegative bacteria 77 strains (96.25 %) were, classified into the genera by both numerical systems. Out of the total of 80 tested strains, 37 strains (46.25 %) were identified as Klebsiella, 17 strains (21.25 %) as Enterobacter, 13 strains (16.25 %) as Citrobacter. The results confirm that bacteria identification by means of commercial diagnostic sets and computer processing of results is a contribution to improvement of procedures used in a microbiological laboratory.
