Percobaan sadap tusuk pada tanaman karet muda.

The experiment compared six systems of puncture tapping with half spiral cut tapping with and without stimulation, in terms of rubber yield, dry rubber content and girth growth, in trees of clone GT 1 opened for tapping at 4 years from planting. All tapping was third daily (d/3). The puncture tapping systems involved 5, 7 and 10 punctures on 70 cm bands located in the upper and lower half of the trunk below the normal height of opening (130 cms). The dosage of ethophon in all stimulated systems was uniform at 60 mg/tree/month. Yields from the puncture systems were 20-25% less than those of S/2 cut tapping with stimulation but girth increment was around 30% better. In contrast, puncture systems yielded 220-240% more than the unstimulated cut tapping but at a lower dry rubber content (73-77%); there was no significant difference in girth growth. Within the puncture systems there were no significant effects of number of punctures or location of tband on the measured yield and growth parameters.
