Efecto de la longitud de poda en la fructificacion de vid Vitis vinifera L., cultivares Thompson seedless y Malaga roja.
1986
Lagarda Murrieta A.
The table grape market in the Lagunera region has a great demand for the Malaga Roja and Thompson Seedless varieties because of their resistance to transportation damage and their popularity with the consumers. However, in this region both varieties have low yields compared with those reported for the same varieties in other vine production areas of Mexico. During 1976 and 1977 studies were done at La Laguna Agricultural Experimental Station on length for the buds of these varieties, with the aim of resolving the above mentioned problem. Pruning length of 2,4,6,8, and 10 buds per cane, were tasted on the Malaga Roja Cultivar, maintaining 50 buds per plant. The Thompson seedless Cultivar was pruned at 4,8,12,16 buds per cane and three unpruned canes, maintaining 60 buds per cane in all treatments. The evaluation showed that the treatments on the cv. Malaga Roja were statistically equal, each with a yield of 12 kg. of grapes per plant. Statistically significant differences between treatments were obtained for the cv. Thompson Seedless, both in grape yield and in number of clusters per plant. The best result was obtained with canes pruned to 12 buds.
