This book is the result of a project undertaken by fourth year veterinary students at Massey University, New Zealand. It outlines the history of the discovery of, and research into cures and control methods for, a number of important animal diseases. Diseases covered are clostridial diseases, brucellosis, Aujetzky's disease, bloat, bush sickness (cobalt deficiency), small intestinal carcinomas, hydatids, footrot, facial eczema, caprine arthritis-encephalomyelitis, mannosidosis, equine herpesvirus, spongiform encephalopathies, vesiculo-bullous disease in pigs, selenium deficiencies, yersiniosis, tuberculosi and ryegrass staggers.
