An experiment to study the possibility of interaction of GA3 hormone, flag leaves pruning and row ratio of cytoplasmic male sterile plant and restorer, were conducted in Sukamandi Field Station in the wet season of 1987. V20A as cytoplasmic male sterile line and IR 54 as restorer line were planted in a Randomized Complete Block Design, in a split-split plot treatment with three replications. Mainplot was the row ratio plant, (1:4,1:6 and 1:8). The subplot was flag leaves pruning, pruning and unpruning of restorer or cytoplasmic male sterile. The sub-sub plot was GA3 hormone concentration (0, 30, and 60 ppm). The data indicated that GA3 at 60 ppm concentration still increased yield, seed set, panicle excertion and plant height. In the treatment combination (1:4 flag leaves unpruning and 60 ppm GA3) and (1:4 flag leaves and 60 ppm GA3) percent seed set were 30.14 and 33.76. Seed yield tended to decrease and plant height reduced significantly as a consequence of flag leaves pruning. On the other hand, panicle excertion, tiller number per hill and plant height were not influenced by row ratio treatment. There were correlations between seed set and yield, panicle excertion and yield and plant height and yield. Tiller number and yield did not correlate.
