The qualitative and quantitative composition of fatty acids and phenolic acid fractions isolated from flowers of Verbascum phlomoides L. and V. thapsiforme Schard. growing in Poland was investigated by chromatographic methods. The content of oil in the flowers was equal to 2.4 and 1.6%. The myristic, palmitic, stearic, oleic; linoleic, linolenic; arachic and lignoceric fatty acids found in the oils occur in them at nearly the same concentrations. Ro-hydroxycinnamic, protocatechuic, ro-hydroxybenzoic, ro-coumaric, vanillic and ferulic acids were identified in the flowers of plants.
