Greenhouse study was conducted to determine the efficiency of P fertilizer based on water soluble P and citrate soluble P. Four rates of fertilizer consisting of water soluble P-citrate soluble P at 90%-9%, 86%-12%, 78%-20% and 57%-42% were applied to Suwan 1 corn grown on Lopburi and Packhong soil series. Two soil moisture levels (65% and 35% water saturation) were maintained by weighing the pots and watering daily. Growth responses to fertilizer and moisture were obtained on both soils. Corn that was applied with all rates of fertilizers produced higher dry matter yield than the control. Yields of corn grown ou Lopburi soils and was treated with fertilizers contained water soluble P-citrate soluble P at 90%-9%, 86%-12% and 78%-30% were not significantly different. However, corn treated with 90%-9% P fertilizer produced higher yield than that of 57%-42% P fertilizer. Corn grown on Pakchong soils and applied with all rates of fertilizer produced higher yield than that of 90%-9%, 78%-20% and 57%-42% fertilizer treatments. Watering both soils to 65% water saturation increased corn yield. The growth responses to fertilizer are attributed to increasing N, P and K uptakes, N, P and K uptakes increased markedly as the water saturation of soil increased. Corn growth on Lopburi soils and applied with all rates of fertilizer took up more N, P and K than the control. Corn grown on Pakchong soils which received 90%-9% P fertilizer took up the largest amount of N, K, and P uptake was highest when 86%-12% P fertilizer was applied. Use of 78%-20% and 57%-42% P fertilizers decreased N, P and K uptakes and K uptakes.
