This study was carried out to obtain basic information for improving cultivar of naked barley. To investigate the variation of some important agronomic characters and quality in different length culm and awn, 32 strains of naked barley were seeded on October 20 in 1983. Panicle length, flag leaf length, grain width, and 1,000 grain weight expanded as the culm length was increased, while number of panicle per squaremeter tended to decrease. Pearling rate and ash content were higher in long-culmed variety, but there was no significant differences with whiteness and protein content.
