Four sodic soils situated at Portuguesa and Guarico States were characterizated physically and chemically. All results obtained are determining the presence of sodic horizons with high pH values (higher than 10, inclusive) and low Electrical Conductivity (EC), high Bulk Density (Db) values (higher than 2 g/cm 3 inclusive), low infiltration rate (<1 mm/h), very hard and with concentrated precipitation of CaCO3 as pseudomyceliums, soft powdery forms or concretions (irregular or rounded), in spite of some parental materials are not calcareous.
