Malezas de la familia Asteraceae nuevas para la flora de Chile.

Based on the material deposited at the Herbarium of the University of Concepcion, existent literature and recent field collections, a catalogue of species of weeds of the family Asteraceae growing in Chile has been compiled. A total of 106 species is recorded. Referring to the family Asteraceae, an historical review is presented to illustrate the constant increase in the number of species throughout the century. Acmella glaverrima (Hassler) R.K. Jansen, Bidens pseudocosmos Sherff, B. subal ternans DC, Calendula tripterocarpa Rupr., Centaurea jacea L., Chamaemelum mixtum (L) All., Leontodon autummalis L. and Leontodon hirtus L. are reported for the first time as components of the Flora de Chile. Origin and distribution of each species are indicated.
