Three rates of Copac E namely; 6, 8 and 10 li/ha and the combination of Copac E (4 li/ha) + Dithane M-45 (2 kg/ha) were evaluated to determine their efficacy in controlling black rot of head cabbage and consequently assess their effects on yield. Results revealed that all the bactericide rates significantly reduced black rot infection in cabbage. The highest concentration of the bactericide (10 li/ha) was the most superior giving 37.33% control of the disease followed by 8 and 6 li/ha with 33.25 and 32.81% control, respectively. The combination of Copac E and Dithane M-45 was the most inferior with only 16.29% control. An increase in yield was noted in plants sprayed with the lowest concentration of Copac E (6 li/ha) followed by 8 li/ha, combination of Copac E and Dithane M-45 and the highest concentration of the bactericide (10 li/ha). Unsprayed plants gave the lowest mean yield of 21.41 t/ha.
