The influence of some main components of cropping system (crop rotation, fertilizing) upon the biological characteristics of the soil and yield of crops was discussed. Master of Science thesis has been compiled as one part of extensive research still going on. Therefore, the following conclusions will need further elaboration to some extent. On the basis of data the following conclusions can be drawn. The number of biomass of earthworms in area was higher in the integrated crop rotation than in the intensive crop rotation. Compared to the variants without mineral fertilizers, the intensive use of mineral fertilizers (120 kg ha-1 N, P2O5, K2O) significantly increased the number and biomass of earthworms in May but reduced it in August and September. Coefficient of correlation between the soil's content of moisture and the number and biomass of earthworms were respectively 0.72 and 0.64 at the depth of 0-15 cm in 1995. The number of genus of soil fungi was higher in the integrated crop rotation.
