Nine male sterile lines (A) and their counterparts, lines (B), IS.10240, IS.10250, IS.10317, Tx.2756, Tx.2758, Tx.2759, Tx.2760 and Tx.2761 were intercrossed. All possible F1 male sterile single crosses and original male sterile lines were topcrossed to fertility restoring lines (R), 'KU.301' to verify the advantage of three way crosses as compared to the related single crosses. Eleven agronomic trials considered under this investigation were grain yield, days to flowering, plant height, number of seeds per head, 1,000 seeds weight, head weight, leaf disease; lodging percentage, head exertion and number of heads per plot. Results indicated that all mean performances of the two hybrid-types were significantly different from the parents. The yield advantage of the hybrids resulted directly from the increase in number of seeds per heads, seed weight and threshing percentage. The two hybrid-type were significantly different in days to flowering, number of seeds per head and threshing percentage, but they showed a similar yielding ability. Generally, Tx.2758 and Tx.2759 gave several good agronomic characters in hybrid combinations, such as high yield, earlier flowering, more seeds per head and good threshing percentage but gave low seed weight in combination with KU.301. Phenotypic correlation were estimated from pure lines, single crosses and three-way hybrids. Grain yield was positively and significantly correlated with head weight. Number of seeds per head was the most important yield component.
