There are about 70-80 thousand farmers in Latvia and most of them have 5-10 hectares of forest lands. Forest cutting operations are done mainly by chain saws but for wood transport agricultural tractors T-40AM and LTZ-55 are used. The object of investigation was the tractor LTZ-55. It was stated that this tractor did not correspond to the requirements for work in the forest. The article presents the results of investigation on the visibility applying agricultural tractor LTZ-55. Investigations show that there are non-visibility zones about - 3.2 m in front of the tractors, 1.65 m from the sides and 1.9 m - behind the tractor. This can cause accidents in forest work.
