TPS [true potato seed] transplants and seedling tubers were evaluated in Cagayan and Ilocos Norte [Philippines] during the dry season, 1991-1992. Under full solar exposure, APC 107 x APC 1100 transplants produced the highest yield per plant (168 g). This was attributed to higher number of tubers/plant. Survival at maturity was low due to late planting and virus infection. High plant survival was observed from plants grown under partially shaded condition. However, lower yields were obtained than when plants were under full solar exposure. The marketable yield of seedling tubers of selected TPS progenies ranged from 1.5 to 6.1 t/ha in Ilocos Norte and 3.3 to 5.5 t/ha in Sto. Nino, Cagayan. HPS 2/67 produced the highest marketable yield of 6.1 t/ha in Ilocos Norte but the lowest in Cagayan at 3.3 t/ha.
