The paper presents the preliminary results of pot experiments concerning Trifluraline effects on the microbian activity in a Brown Red soil, as well as on the growth and production of mustard, corn (green mater) and soybeans. Application of organic matter (compost at a rate of 60 t/ha) diminished phytotoxic effect of the Trifluraline (4 kg/ha). At the same time, this treatment diminished the perturbation effect of the Trifluraline on the microbian activity. The positive effects of this treatment were also substantiate by the stimulation of the dehydrogenase activity.
