Effect of weed control treatments and inoculation methods with Rhizobium on nodulation, growth, yield and yield components of pea (Pisum sativum, L.) [Egypt].

El Gazar T.M.
The effect of some chemical herbicides (Vernam-7-E and Gesagard-80) and methods of Rhizobium inoculation (Seed inoculation and water suspension), along with their interactions on nodulation, growth, yield and yield component of peas plants were investigated. The highest values of nodulation, fresh and dry weights per plant, yield and average number of seeds/ 10 pods resulted in the application of the herbicide Gesagard-80 The moost inhibitory effect of chemical herbicides on weed growth was obtained from using Gesagard-80. Seed inoculation method gave significantly higher values of nodulation, fresh and dry weights per plant, total yield, average number and weight of seeds per 10 pods than these of water suspension form. Rhizobial inoculation methods also revealed insignificant effect on the average weight of weeds per plot in both seasons of study.
