There were increasing trends in the productions of silk weft, silk warp and Thai silk, but the production of still has silk warp problems in quantity, price and quality. The main importing countries of Thailand for these products were Japan, the United States of America and European Economic Community countries (EEC). The important factors affecting export demands for Thai silk to Japan, the United States of America and Belgium were prices of Thai silk exports, prices of silk exports from the competitive countries and per capita income of the importing countries. The important factors affecting export demands for Thai silk products which include pillow-slips, neck-ties, clothes and scarves were prices of Thai silk exports, prices of silk exports from the competitive countries and per capita income of the Federal Republic of Germany. Three policies to expand export markets of Thai silk and Thai silk products to the main importing countries. These policies are first, price policy by keeping the present export prices levels since there are stabilities. Second, production policy by extending domestic silk warp production. This will be a way of reducing production cost of Thai silk and increasing the advantage in competition. Third, the marketing policy by always keeping the good quality and high standard level of Thai silk exports, and there should be the policy of market expantion to promote the quality and identity of Thai silk for foreigners.
