Rhynchocoris humeralis is one of the major causes of fruit drops in mandarin oranges in the Western Development Region of Nepal. Nymphs and adults suck growing mandrain fruits and such fruits drop. The eggs of these bugs have been found attacked by wasp parasites. Monitoring of parasites for two years revealed that Trissolcus latisulcus, Anastatus spp and Ooencyrtus utitheisae have been found associated and the former two have a higher rate of prevalence in this region. The bug attacked fruits have been found to develop brownish tinge in the fruit centre and seed coat which otherwise would be white and greenish, respectively. Also, the bug attack has caused the shrinkage of seed cotyledon.
