Bee queens reared in colonies receiving vitamin B1 showed higher by 87 percent content of thiamin, increased by 11 percent body weight and greater by 6.5 percent number of the ovarian tubules that did those reared in colonies fed pure sugar syrup. This indicated that vitamin B1 is assimilated by bees organism and has a beneficial effect on its development. Therefore, it seems reasonable to use vitamin B1 as an additive to feed intended for colonies rearing queens.
