Results showed significant difference in the degree of efficacy of some insecticides, in reference to their initial toxicity, as well as their persistence. Standard high efficacy showed the following insecticides: bensultap (Bancol 50-WP), teflubenzuron (Nomolt 15-SC), endosulfan (Tiocid E-35) and chlorpyriphos + cypermethrin (Nurelle-D). At the same time, persistence of these insecticides was high. Very low efficacy was expressed by carbosulfan (Posse 25-EC) such that work with this insecticide was stopped during 1993-1994. Pyrethroids showed very high initial effects and were weakly persistant. Very low efficacy was expressed by the biological insecticide Novodor FC, which, in practical sense, can, satisfy the demand for its use to control the Colorado potato beetle, however it is ecologically justified.
