Replacement levels of cassava (Manihot esculenta, Grantz) chip in corn diets were studied using, 2.5 year-old castrated swamp buffaloes with average liveweight 250 kg in a 5x5 latin square design. The levels of replacement were 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 % of corn in concentrate mixture. The results showed that higher level of cassava chip in concentrate increased DM and OM digestibilities but slightly decreased those of NDF digestibilities. The rumen pH, NH3-N and TVFA concentrations were in good ranges being 6.2-7.0, 107-130 mg/l and 93-104 mM., respectively. Cassava chip could be used to replace corn satisfactorily and markedly reduced the cost of the respective concentrates especially when the price of cassava chip is low and available in large quantity.
