There are a number of unclarified points on the fertilizer application to arrowhead. So the survey of the actual conditions of the soil was carried out and investigated the income and outgo of nutrient elements in the fields of arrowhead cultivation. 1) the top and subsoils of arrowhead cultivation in Kadoma-shi were generally clayish, and humus contents had higher level compared with other fields in Osaka Prefecture. After arrowhead cultivation, there are few contents of nitrate and ammonium N, but exchangeable-K2O tended to be higher. 2) The average concentration of total-N, P, K, Ca, and Mg in the irrigation water was 4.8, 1.7, 7.2, 22.8, and 4.2 ppm, respectively. 3) The fertilizer absorption percentage of N, P, and K was 55.9, 39.3 and 116.9%, respectively. 4) The fertilizer recovery rate of the habitual fertilization to arrowhead was lower than paddy field rice one on nitrogen and was higher on phosphate.
