Uso de Melazan y aditivos biologicos en ensilaje de alfalfa.
1992
Marti B Roberto
The purpose of this trial was to evaluate the effect of substrate additives (Molasses, Forager, Ecosyl) on the fermentation of silage evaluated by means of the loss of DM effluents, evolution of the temperature and the nutritive and fermentative quality of the silage. All the silages were made in December 21, 1990 with forage coming from an alfalfa pasture whose botanic composition was 70% alfalfa (Medicago sativa) and 30% Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum). Effluents were measured daily and contents of DM and pH were determined. The temperature was monitored through thermocuplas introduced in the silo and the nutritive quality was determined through laboratory analysis. The different treatments were made with forage, cut at different times of the day, which produced differences in the initial temperature of the silage and significant differences (P <- 0.05) in the content of dry matter of the effluents. The quality of the silage in relation to the crude protein, pH, metabolizable energy and total ash did not differ among treatments (P <- 0.05). Differences were found (P <- 0.05) in the percentage of total dry matter, where the control treatment presented the lowest level. There were significant differences (P <- 0.05) in the content of ammonia-N as percentage of total nitrogen. The treatments that contained Molasses presented the lowest levels of N-NH3.
