Phaseolus beans are grown in Cyprus over the period April-November under irrigation for production of fresh pods or grain. The present work aimed to determine the water requirements of the crop, the identification of critical stages with regard to water stress, the appropriate frequency of irrigation by drip, the effect of sodium chloride on grain yield, the N and P fertilizing of Phaseolus and dinitrogen fixation.
