The symptoms of a new bacteriosis of Gerbera jamesonii in Greece are described. The morphological, physiological, biochemical characters and pathogenicity of nine isolates of the bacterium are reported. The pathogen is identified as Pseudomonas cichorii, which is ascertained for the first time in Greece. Measures for control of the disease were tried and are discussed.
